Week 7 "Progress Presentation"
Before Thanksgiving break we presented a progress presentation that included anything and everything we've done up to that point. While we were only designing the progress of it all. We presented our encounter of presenting to the classes in Anaheim High School. We discussed our following steps to complete our project and future event we will share. Spending time to plan our future events has been more difficult considering after the collections of donations, we will need a new event to help the homeless. My partner and I have thought of future ideas to progress through other than donations. The presentation overall went great, the class was supportive and received volunteers for any upcoming events soon to take place. Progress Presentation

Week 6: "Handing them out"
Copies of the fliers are yet to be handed out to the little people. Giving a copy to my teacher at Anaheim High School became a good to get started. she was kind enough to make copies for all the teachers and place them in their mailbox for them to read to their students. Probably a great advancement for all of AHS to participate in the Helping the Homeless Drive. We also spoke in Mr.Lee's English class to get our class involved. Decorating, bringing in, and setting boxes for students to place in items will be hopefully ready this week and set into the classrooms. It's been a great experience going in and presenting to classes to get students interested and become more involved.

Week 5 "Setting Dates"
We officially have set first date we are going to start collecting items. December 13th. I edited the fliers and changed their formatting them back to word. This season if giving and opportunity, think of all the homeless people that don't have anything for the holidays. This collection of items will go directly to those in need. Donating items that may not have a significant meaning to you but make a big difference in theirs. I will be printing them out, perhaps scanning them to be quicker. Now its time to get it through Anaheim High School ASB and post them around AHS. Since I go to AHS for a class they've been collecting a while back. Good items collected and ahead. I am also going to get them to the Salvation Army as soon as possible to get their volunteers to collect sooner rather than later.

Week 3 "Project Say & Salvation Army"
Reaching out to volunteer organizations was actually a huge success. My partner, Sonia, went back to her old volunteer group Project Say to talk to them about joining our project. She went to a meeting they held and she received lots of information and ideas as to what we are going to do soon. She has also been able to talk to her friend in another school to be able to get our project fliers approved while I get them approved in our school and another school. While she went to Project Say I went to Salvation Army OC and met with their activities directors and accomplished on getting their full support. They were so gracious and excited about helping a student help the community. They're an amazing group that volunteer with anyone interested and help the whole community in so many ways. When they discus our project within themselves and let their volunteers know, hopefully we'll be able to start collecting good and set the dates to collect them and donate.
week 2 "Getting the Word Out"
I thought getting the word out would definitely be easier. We're getting in contact with "Project Say Specialists," here in Anaheim. Hoping he would agree to help us. It would be such a positive support for our project. Next we are going to Salvation Army OC to hopefully gain their support with donations and getting fellow volunteers involved. Getting to be able to show everyone, how much you really can help the people in need makes it worth it. Lots of excitement from my partner and myself, hoping to being able to set dates of collection. We are also sending the fliers to other schools and getting them approved, making another resource to collect from and hopefully get more volunteers. Waiting for such things does take time but there is progress and getting the foundation of helping the homeless set. I'm really hoping my school's asst. principle will let me present and pass it on to ASB to get it approved so it can pass through school.

Week 1 "Ultimate Goals"
Want to make a difference to someone? Life altering helpfulness? You see, there are so many people in need of your help. My name is Ximena and my partner's name is Sonia, and we want to make someone's day with just the everyday necessities. We have thought up of a plan, a plan where we will help the homeless. Have you looked outside and watched men, women, and children out on the street? The homeless- a father, brother, sister, neighbor and anyone that needs our help. Everyone needs the basic necessities to survive and that's what they are in need of our help. We have decided to act on our plan for our school's 20% percent project, but it will no longer just be a simple school project, when there are so many people in need of our help. We want to expose the lives of the people in need and give everyone an insight at what we all need to work together to accomplish. Gathering as many helpful volunteers, that will help us accomplish to many wonderful things to our community. We need all the help we can get. Yes, we have a long way to go, but we WILL help.
